'Hope for the Flowers' - a reflection on the story of the same name.
“Hope for the Flowers" was given us as a story for children, but the story is an allegory for young and old alike. The laminate is a re-telling of the story as given to Fr John by someone whose life was changed by reading it. The story likens selfish ambition to caterpillars pushing and struggling up a column, only to find there is nothing at the top – although there is hope for the young buck caterpillar who lets go of the column at the encouragement of a beautiful butterfly and finds his wings. The person's experience after reading this life-changing inspiration is also shared on the laminate, which we were asked to produce in the hope that it would similarly inspire others.
(We later found the original story 'Hope for the Flowers' as told by the author, Trina Paulus, and written over 40 years ago. It is still available as a book for children.)
The stories are printed onto a themed picture paper and laminated.
