- WATERMEAD STORY This is the laminate that began the series of Saints’ laminates. It was designed to celebrate Maurice and Gwen’s Diamond Wedding Anniversary. Gwen and Maurice had been responsible for establishing the first church of St Theresa's in Birstall, Leicestershire, the birth parish of the Watermead Apostolate - having chosen the name as being the favourite saint of the first parish priest. BACKGROUND OUR LAMINATES Lam’posts was the name first given to this series of laminates. ‘Lam’ from the word laminate and ‘post’ because they were designed as an alternative postal greeting to the usual card. Changes to size and costs in the UK postal system changed the appeal for their posting as a greeting for a special occasion, but they are still popular as small posters. They are divided into various categories with each containg many different designs and themes.
