- WATERMEAD STORY This A4 laminated sheet began as a gift for two people whose friendship inspired those around them. The theme is summed up in the quotation from St. Francis de Sales ‘In the world it is necessary to be bound together in friendship, to stimulate each other in doing good’. The laminate also has the wording of the Watermead hymn ‘I Call You Friends’ along with a picture of St Francis and St Clare as examples of true Christian friendship. The hymn ‘I Call You Friends’ is available sung on Watermead’s CD ‘I Call You Friends’ and as an instrumental version on the ‘People of God’ meditation CD. The sheet music is also available. BACKGROUND TO OUR LAMINATESLam’posts was the name first given to this series of laminates. ‘Lam’ from the word laminate and ‘post’ because they were designed as an alternative postal greeting to the usual card. Changes to size and costs in the UK postal system changed the appeal for their posting as a greeting for a special occasion, but they are still popular as small posters. They are divided into various categories with each containing many different designs and themes.
