WATERMEAD STORY The original pictures and wordings used on Watermead cards are usually gifted or suggested to us by people who become involved with one of the Watermead Apostolate's activities - retreats, pilgrimages, conferences - or who discover us through our websites or read about us in newspaper/magazine articles. Over the years we have even been gifted original work by customers who come to our shop and centre.   SR DOROTHY McGREGOR This card belongs to a series dedicated to Sr Dorothy McGregor of Maundy Relief in Accrington, Lancashire. Sr Dorothy discovered us through our internet shop in 2009 and soon started commissioning a variety of personal encouragement cards for people she was helping, asking that her own very individual prayers and thoughts be included in the designs. She died in May 2013 just after having given Watermead permission to use her wording and prayers in a series of care and encouragement cards. All cards in this series are illustrated with paintings and photographs gifted to Watermead over the years and on this particular card one of our 'Little Saints' makes an appearance. Maundy Relief is a "first port of call" and a "last resort" for people in their local community, helping them practically and emotionally in numerous ways. For more information on the inspiring work visit their website.
