‘The Hug’ was first brought to our attention in 1995 by Josie, a member of the parish in Birstall where we began. She had been so taken with the wording she asked if it was possible to type up her hand-written copy for her.
After an unsuccessful attempt to find the author it was presented to Josie framed and illustrated by the hugging Little Saints. The only reference found to an author is ‘Anonymous’ – despite its appearing on many items and cards – so we acknowledge ‘Anonymous’ and Josie.
The presentation later was reproduced as one of the Laminated A4 Thoughts’ series and was an obvious ‘Smiles’
