WATERMEAD STORY This first Confirmation card was designed for members of the children's band who provided the accommpanying music at mass. The hymn wording given inside the card, 'I shall Follow', was written especially for their celebration of Confirmation. This second card pictures our Little Saints "Gifts of the Spirit" logo. CONFIRMATION The Sacrament of Confirmation is the gift of the Holy Spirit, a confirming the gift of the life of Christ. It is a ritual or rite of passage practised by several Christian denominations. The word means strengthening or deepening one's relationship with God. THE SACRAMENTS The Christian journey is marked by special moments of God’s blessing called Sacraments. There are seven: Baptism (Christening), Confirmation (or Chrismation), the Eucharist (Holy Communion), Penance (Confession/Reconciliation), the Anointing of the Sick (formerly termed Last Rites), Holy Orders (Priesthood and Religious life) and Matrimony (Marriage) - linking the stages of human life with the stages of the spiritual life.
