The wording on the front of this card reads:
Congratulations - on the Occasion of your Baptism
Inside is our "Waters of Life" story:
God’s spirit breathed
into the waters of creation.
The waters separated
into the rivers and streams of new life
and the seas and oceans of darkness.
Jesus offered to the Samaritan woman
a living spring, the water of eternal life,
and to the people in the Temple
fountains of living water,
fulfilling John the Baptist’s promise
of new baptism by water and the Holy Spirit from the one who was to come.
From Jesus’ pierced side at the crucifixion flowed the water of Baptism
(and the blood of the Eucharist).
Baptism became the sacrament
of new life and cleansing water.
Along with the greeting:
At your Baptism ceremony the water is the sign of your new life in Christ,
the candle symbolises the light of faith
and the blessing with holy oil welcomes you into
the people of God.
